Two Questions To Ask When Your Child Is Hurting

Home » Uncategorized » Two Questions To Ask When Your Child Is Hurting

Question : When Does Momma Love you?

Answer : All the time.

Question : Who Loves you the most?

Answer: Jesus

As our kids get bigger, their hurts get bigger. They become more complex, more emotional. No less real of course, but feels different – bigger.

And when your kid hurts, oh my, does it break a momma heart. 2

Here are two Questions to ask your kids when they’re hurting.

1. When does Momma love you? and I make them, I taught them to answer “All the time”. My hope is that this reminds them that when they hurt, because they will, that they have someone always on their side. My love for them is never conditional, never. No matter what, come home, Momma love you.

2. The second question I ask is this; Who loves you the most? and I taught them to answer “Jesus”. We also accept God :). My hope, my prayer is that this reminds them they’re never alone, God is with them, fighting for them, guiding them and working anything and everything together for their good and His glory, because He loves them. The very most.

Momma, I know we hurt just as much when we see our kids hurt. We can’t always fix everything, we can’t always make it all better or take the hurt away. But what we can do, is we can walk with them through their hurt. We can hold them and remind them that no matter what, come home, come home to the One who loves them all the time, and who loves them the very most.
