I know from personal experience how important it is to memorize scripture! It’s something I continually try to work on even as an adult but it’s something I love to practice with my kids as well!
I started doing this with my kids when they were two and three years old, showing you’re really never too young to start memorizing scripture! First, I took a picture frame, removed the photo and replaced it with a piece of paper. I then used a dry erase marker to write a verse on it.
That picture frames with the verse then sat right next to a candy dish. Everyday, sometimes more then once a day, the kids would ask for candy. In order to get the candy, they had to recite the scripture. Easy peasy. It works like a charm, they had scripture memorized so fast! Still to this day, we’ll be out somewhere and before they pop candy into their mouth, they’ll say scripture! It cracks me up!
